Clothing Interview

For this interview I talked with my husband Skyler about his clothing choices.

How important is clothing in your life?-  I think if I had all the money in the world and didnt have to buy them, then I would like nice clothes, but it is not important enough for me to spend money on.

- how much time and thought do you give to what you wear on an average day?-  Little to no thought, about two seconds. However when I have something important to go to I try to look my best.

- What do you hope to accomplish from being dressed in a particular way, now or in the future? - in the future the way I dress will help me to look professional in the medical field so it will be important I dress the part. Now I just want to dress in a way that is appropriate but also doesn't cost a lot.

- do you dress to please yourself or others? - I used to dress to impress others, now I kind of lean toward pleasing others, but I still have the mentality that when you look good you feel good.

- Would you say you dress for comfort? - yes, most of the time I do especially when I know I will be sitting for a while, (like at school)

- do you think people are judged by their appearance- yes I think people judge others by their appearance, whether it is conscientiously or not.

Personally I think my husband and my views are very similar. I think that it is important to look your best each day, but I rarely if ever spend money on fashion because I think there are way more important things to spend money on. I think that much like every other thing in the world today fashion is gaining a wide variety about what people think about it. I also think that gender is playing less and less of a role in how you feel about fashion.

Modesty

Being modest isn't really the cool thing to do in the world today. I however think it is a privilege to be modest in my clothes, dress and language and behavior!

Here are some of my favorite quotes that show why!

"Your body is God’s sacred creation. Respect it as a gift from God, and do not defile it in any way. Through your dress and appearance, you can show the Lord that you know how precious your body is. … The way you dress is a reflection of what you are on the inside”
"Modesty is more than a matter of avoiding revealing attire. It describes not only the altitude of hemlines and necklines but the attitude of our hearts. The word modesty means “measured.” It is related to moderate. It implies “decency, and propriety … in thought, language, dress, and behavior”
being modest shows you respect yourself and it actually shows you are confident in who you are!
